Mimosa pudica is a creeping annual or perennial flowering plant of the pea/legume family Fabaceae. It is often grown for its curiosity value: the sensitive compound leaves quickly fold inward and droop when touched or shaken and re-open a few minutes later.
They thrive in bright, indirect sunlight but can tolerate partial shade. They are often grown as groundcover or ornamental potted plants.
Is widely used in traditional folk medicine to treat various diseases including diarrhea, alopecia, tumor, insomnia, dysentery etc. and is also effective in the treatment of wounds and snake bite.
Dos
They need bright, indirect light, well-draining soil, consistent moisture, and protection from frost. Pruning can promote bushier growth, and fertilization during the growing season supports healthy foliage.
Don'ts
Don't overwater, expose them to direct sunlight for long periods, or neglect their need for a warm, humid environment.
